About Playground
Nex was born out of the dream to help kids and families rediscover the joy of movement. Nex started out as an app based platform creating games that were powered by your body's movement. This empowered kids and adults to play more, move more, and have fun using the devices they already owned. As the popularity and potential for experiences grew so did the need for a more advanced and independent gaming system. Level designed an elegant and joyful active game system perfect for family time
Design Strategy
Level set out to create a product experience that emulated the fun and energy created by the games. It was also important to avoid category-typical color schemes and expressive-less forms.
Playground’s colors emulate joy and energy, as commonly seen in sports brands. Bright and activating, the hues invite play while being grounded in a home-friendly neutral. Playground is also designed to easily fit in any room and provide parents with a sense of security.
Process
I participated in the initial ideation around Nex Playground. I assisted in concept generation, CAD modeling, 3D printing, prototype development, and presenting work to the client.
